ICANN Dublin 2015
In October, Andrew Mack attended the 54th ICANN meeting in Dublin, Ireland. Mack led conversations about the Business Constituency’s ongoing efforts to bring more private sector representatives from emerging markets into the global dialogue around Internet governance. He also held conversations with representatives of ICANN, governments, new gTLD registries and clients. Big at this ICANN for AMG was discussion of the “next markets” for the new gTLDs – with many discussions around how different new gTLDs can understand and penetrate markets like Latin America and Africa, with a little expert help. Of course an ICANN meeting can be more than just policy and potential new business, as Mack showed when he joined an impromptu band of conference attendees for some blues and Latin jazz at a Dublin bar.
